I had a great impromptu Skype conversation with Amanda today, and she (& her teammate Kimmy) expressed interest in using a tool called Voicethread in their culminating lesson #3.
As a way of showing (briefly) what a Voicethread is and how it would look embedded in a blog post, I've posted below a short Voicethread I made about classroom design in one of my fieldwork placement sites: City & Country. Voicethread can accommodate photos, videos, or documents, and people can use a pen to highlight areas of the central image while they are leaving a comment. I encourage you to explore the Voicethread website and definitely look at their 1-minute "What is a Voicethread" piece for more information.
