Adrienne, Your passionate speech conveys not only the problem, but the urgency of providing relevant, culturally empowering, and rigorous learning experiences to African American and Latino students in urban areas that are challenged with issues related to poverty. You correctly note that there is ample research to prove the disparity of education between these groups and white children in other areas of the city, and in the suburbs. And, I agree that this is an injustice that educators can and should address.
